Marauders Post-Holiday Basketball | Video

Lee Timmerman | 1/3/2013

The University of Mary starts the post-holiday part of its basketball schedule on the road. The Marauders women got in a tune-up last weekend, destroying Dakota State by shooting 72 percent from the floor.

"I think we definitely accomplished whet we wanted to. It`s definitely better than practicing just playing against another team that we haven`t seen before and it was really good for us to get out all of the kinks because we have a really big weekend coming up ahead of us," said guard Taylor Luke.

U-Mary plays the Huskies and Bulldogs this week, which will not be an easy task for the team.

"As far as the North division goes I think this is obviously the toughest road trip now because both of these teams being new travel partners. They play the same style, they will work hard to not let you run your stuff. They do it a little differently. St. Cloud is going to be that one the line, up the line, deny the basketball not let you get into your offense very well. Duluth will probably look you right in the nose and just as soon wrestle you as play basketball so they go about it a little bit differently," said head coach Rick Neumann.

U-Mary will be in St.Cloud tomorrow night. Scott Westerberg will have a complete wrap-up on the weekend, Sunday Night on Marauders Weekly.
