McKenzie Foster made 11 of 18 three pointers this past weekend in a pair of wins for the U-Mary women`s basketball team, but according to the Northern Sun Conference, that wasn`t the most impressive performance of the last week. That honor belongs to Foster`s teammate Ali Collins. The senior from Mandan averaged 21 points, five rebounds, five assists and six and a half steals.

Ali sat a total of just three minutes in the wins over Bemidji State and Minnesota-Crookston. But as Collins points out, she wasn`t the only one to put up big numbers over the weekend.

"Like I`ve always been saying, on a different night it`s always somebody. This weekend Foster played real well, even tonight she played really well, and even Shanara played really well tonight."

The weekend sweep was big for the Marauders, as they now sit just one game back of St. Cloud State for the North Division lead.

"This was huge, definitely a confidence builder and especially because a lot of teams are so even in the league that hopefully we can come back and be number one in our division," Collins said.

This is the first player of the week honor for Collins. Rachel Zillmer was the last U-Mary woman to win the award, that was in 2009.
