Harvest for Hunger | Video

Rene Thibault | 3/6/2013

Farmers make their living by providing the food we eat. Now, they`re going above and beyond that. SunPrarie Grain and 70 other businesses are teaming up with Cenex Harvest States for the third annual Harvest for Hunger Campaign.

People can donate money or food. Farmers who are dropping off grain at a SunPrarie location, can even donate a portion of the value of their crops, towards the goal of raising more than two million meals for hungry families. Every dollar that`s donated can be turned into three to seven meals for those in need.

“It`s a good contribution to our city, we`re really proud dot be a part of it. It was really successful last year, and we`re hoping for another successful year”, said Doug Naze, a Seed Sales Specialist with SunPrarie Grain.

“In my position, I get to go out to the food pantries and give those checks to the food pantries. It`s really awesome to see how much our community cares about our other communities in the area, and how much our farmers and ranchers, and just regular people in our community really care about those who are hungry in our area”, added Evie Woodall, a Communications Specialist for SunPrarie.

SunPrarie is accepting donations from now until March 20 at its eight locations throughout the state.
