New Mortgage Program | Video

Van Tieu | 2/20/2013

Families with a critically ill or severely injured child in the hospital undergo a lot of stress- including financial stress. An organization in Minnesota called Spare Key helps families with mortgage payments during those difficult times. They`re now serving North Dakota Families who can use the help.

The key is you have to be a home owner, you have to be current on your mortgage, your child has to have been hospitalized 14 out of 90 days, and you have to be able to show that there`s some reduction in income or increase in family expenses as a result of a child`s medical crisis. The most important thing for a child`s recovery is making sure a parent is in that hospital room helping them recover. what spare key does is we help families bounce, not break," said Executive Director Erich Mische.
