ND Senators Introduce Oil and Gas Permit Legislation

North Dakota’s U.S. Senators introduced legislation today to streamline the oil and gas permit process for federal lands in North Dakota. Senators John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp introduced the Bureau of Land Management Streamlining Act, which, if passed, will expand the service area of the Miles City, MT, office to include North Dakota.

The Senators say this would allow the office to process permits for North Dakota and speed up the approval process.

This is a re-introduction of a bill Hoeven introduced last year. That bill was passed by the Senate, but the House did not pass the bill.
