No Saturday Mail Delivery | Video

| 2/6/2013

The Post Office plans to stop delivering mail on Saturdays. The U.S. Postmaster General announced the agency will end Saturday mail service in August, but will continue to make package delivers on the weekend day.

Under the new plan, mail would still be delivered to Post Office boxes on Saturdays and post offices now open on Saturdays would remain open.

The Post Office says while mail delivery has been hit hard by email and internet use, the agency`s package delivery service has increased by 14 percent since 2010.

The move is expected to save the financially struggling agency about two billion dollars a year.

We`ll have more on this story later this evening.
