SE Minot House Fire | Video

The Minot Fire Department responded to a house fire Sunday morning after getting a report of smoke coming from a window. Fire crews arrived at the 1000 block of 8th Street Southeast around 11:00. The fire was put out within 10 minutes.

"The fire was out in pretty rapid order,” Minot Fire Chief CJ Craven. “There was pretty extensive damage to one bedroom and some smoke damage to the rest of the house.”

“The one thing we did was our safes. We had all of our important information in there. So, that`s one thing, I would recommend to people because it`s about the only thing you can save pictures and all of your life’s worth of stuff in there is if you get a safe,” said Stephanie Zietz, house fire victim.

There was no one home at the time of the fire. The fire department is still investigating the situation.
