Inauguration in Person | Video

Retha Colclasure | 1/21/2013

It wasn`t quite as cold in Washington today, where several North Dakotans were among the crowd watching the ceremonial swearing-in of President Obama. They say it was cold by DC standards, but not compared to home.

David Borlaug attended the inauguration four years ago and decided to bring his two daughters along this time to witness history. "I just decided that the inauguration is just an incredible demonstration of what democracy means in America. Regardless of who`s being inaugurated, I think it`s an exciting time to be here."

Chad Nodland says one thing that stuck out to him was feeling the energy of the crowd.

"As the crowd would start to go wild as the President would say things or speakers would say things that they liked, you could feel it. The earth would start to shake like an earthquake and the sound was overwhelming."

Both men planned on attending separate inaugural balls tonight.
