Trinity Health Flu Restrictions | Video

Sarahbeth Ackerman | 1/15/2013

Trinity Health is trying to protect its patients from the flu activity happening in the community and throughout the region. So, Trinity is asking the community to follow some new policies until further notice.

Hospital visits should be limited to only immediate family members. If people are visiting the hospital and are showing flu-like symptoms such as coughing, body aches, and high fever, Trinity will ask you to put a mask on to avoid passing the virus.

"We don`t put out restrictions every year. I mean, we`ve done it in other years, it really depends upon how bad influenza is. And, this year, it happens to be hitting our region relatively bad this year," said ER physician Jeffrey Sather.

Influenza cases are starting to peak throughout the region, but Trinity still has flu vaccinations available. Sather says it`s not too late to get the vaccine.
