| 10/25/2012

An autopsy performed on a hiker who passed away while hiking in western North Dakota revealed that the man died from a heart attack. The autopsy report on Daniel Olszewski, who died while hiking in Theodore Roosevelt National Park in July, was released by the North Dakota State Medical Examiner`s Office.

"Dan was an avid and well-prepared hiker," said Superintendent Valerie Naylor. "It was very sad that his death occurred in the park. After searching for him for 3 days and spending time with his family, we all feel like we knew him."

Olszewski was supposed to go for a day hike and was reported missing when he didn`t show up to work. His body was recovered after a three day search.
