With school approaching, hundreds of children in Minot are expected to go back to class with their basic school supplies. However some of those children are in need of those materials.

The Minot Salvation Army and Sunrise Rotary Club teamed up to have their eighth annual school supply drive today. The volunteers collected a range of donations including backpacks, notebooks, pens and pencils at the Town and Credit Union .

"We are able to help the Salvation Army. We partner with them and just basically being able to help kids. Its a wonderful feeling and these are kids that maybe don`t have all the supplies they need for school so who wouldn`t wantto come in with a brand new backpack and new notebook and crayons and pencils? So it`s a great feeling," said Minot Sunrise Rotary Club volunteer Cassidy Kristen.

If you know someone who is in need of supplies, or if your kids need backpacks, call the Salvation Army or stop at their offices and they will get you signed up to receive a backpack.
