Digging Out Hoge Boat Ramp | Video

Joel Porter | 8/8/2012

A boat ramp north of Bismarck is temporarily closed while workers fix a big problem. The Game and Fish Department and the Bismarck Park District are digging out mud and silt that has clogged the inlet to the Hoge Island ramp.

Much of it came from last summer`s flood.

"With higher flows and the way the river changed and stuff like that, it`s creating different problems all across our boat ramps," said North Dakota Game and Fish Fisheries Development Tech Kyle Hoge.

Workers hope to reopen the ramp by the weekend.
