Enbridge Celebrates 50 Years | Video

Enbridge Pipeline has been in North Dakota fifty years transporting the state`s crude oil to the midwest and beyond.

Governor Jack Dalrymple was in Minot today celebrating the company`s fifty years of service. In the last three years, Enbridge has more than doubled the amount of crude oil barrels per day being shipped through the North Dakota pipeline.

The anniversary celebration also showcased the $145 million Berthold Expansion Project. A rail car loading facility that will be in service this September.

“Fifty years is a long time, it`s a lot of history. Through that time, the Williston Basin has seen some peaks and valleys but with the Bakken play here, we see that nothing but some standard growth here for the next 5 to 10 years and then sustaining it at quite a level over a million barrels per day,” said Director of North Dakota Operations Mike Moeller.

"A lot of good things coming and the state is going to have revenue to do a lot of things that people have wanted to do for a long long time right here in the city of Minot and Minot State University or the entire region for that matter,” said Governor Jack Dalrymple.

Enbridge also awarded the Williston Fire Department with a $50,000 donation for a new fire training facility. The facility will be open to other fire departments in the state.

Enbridge North Dakota system originated in 1962. Just in the past five years, their North Dakota system has tripled their number of employees to over 135.
