Summer Career Academy | Video

Jennifer Joas | 6/20/2012

We use energy every day. That`s why educators at Bismarck State College are teaching teenagers about it`s uses. The National Energy Center of Excellence held a summer career academy for more than a dozen 14 to 16 year olds.

The students are from Minnesota, Montana and North and South Dakota. They did several lab experiments to learn more about the energy industry.

"We`re trying to get a real good implementation of how they would go about using these fundamental skills and creating electricity," said BSC Energy Technology Assistant Professor Paul Zimmerman.

The students also toured Great River Energy and Blue Flint Ethanol.
