Pier at Southport Hosts Crawfish Boil | Video

Joel Porter | 6/9/2012

A restaurant in Bismarck was serving up some southern flair this weekend. The Pier at Southport, which reopened within the past two weeks, hosted a crawfish boil.

Pier chef James Chrisikos, who formerly cooked in Louisiana, was boiling the crustaceans along with a number of sides on the outdoor patio.

The Pier was closed all of last season due to major flooding.

You may be thinking that`s a lot of work to go through for not much meat, but Chrisikos said Saturday`s feed easily attracted a crowd.

"It`s just something that people haven`t tried before. And I know that it tastes good and I know that if I can just get them to try it, they`ll love it."

Customers who ordered the crawfish also got to sample some deep fried alligator.
