More than a thousand bikers are gathering east of Bismarck to camp out for the weekend. The ABATE chapter of North Dakota is hosting its state motorcycle rally at Menoken Grove this weekend.

ABATE stands for American Bikers Aiming Toward Education.

Around 1,500 riders from clubs all over the state have made the trip. Besides camping out and showing off their bikes, the riders are also competing in a series of competitions.

"Every brand out here, we`ve got sport bikes, cruisers, touring bikes, trikes, we`ve even got motorized coolers out here," said ABATE North Dakota President Don Faber.

"We all have a passion. We can all get together and create something like this and have fun with it and at the same time, raise money for a cause," Brad Ehrlich said.

Ehrlich is the vice-president of the Individuals motorcycle club of Jamestown.

The rally wraps up on Sunday with a church service from the Christian Motorcyclists Association.
