Conversations At BSC | Video

Jessica Roose | 2/26/2012

All men and women that serve in our military deserve to be recognized. A crowd of people gathered at Bismarck State College on Sunday to learn about one group that serves.

Dr. Herman Viola, a curator emeritus at the Smithsonian, came to discuss his book, "Warriors in Uniform." A book that tells the history of Indians in the Army.

He said he hoped to educate people about the role Indians play in our military. "There are some fascinating stories and the general public just doesn`t often realize how patriotic Indians are and have been."

Today`s program was part of BSC`s Conversation`s series.

The next lecture, titled "Sacred Places On Great Plains," will be on March 25 at 3:00 p.m.
