Court Holds Evidence Hearing in ND Murder Trial

| 1/19/2012

A key court hearing on a grisly North Dakota murder has just wrapped up in Cooperstown. The hearing was to decide if the severed head of an NDSU researcher can be used as evidence.

Daniel Wacht is charged with murdering Kurt Johnson last winter and decapitating him. The rest of Johnson`s body hasn`t been found.

The defense filed a motion, claiming the body part was obtained improperly.

Police say they found the head in Wacht`s home.
