ND Taxpayers Can Now E-File State Taxes

Courtney Kabot | 1/17/2012

The deadline to file your taxes may be three months away but it`s never too early to get them done.

Now the tax department is making it easier with a new free state electronic filing option for North Dakota taxpayers. The "Fillable Forms" system is for those who don`t qualify for "Free File." The Free File system is available for taxpayers who meet certain criteria based on age, income or military status.

Tax Commissioner Cory Fong says the web-based system is unique to North Dakota`s tax forms and most residents are eligible to use it. He also says it`s similar to a paper return, except taxpayers can now submit their information electronically.
